EcommerceConversionGrowth
The Ecommerce Conversion Audit Framework I Use on Every Project
A systematic approach to finding and fixing conversion killers in ecommerce stores.
Every ecommerce store has conversion leaks. The question is where — and which ones to fix first.
The Framework
I break every audit into five zones:
1. First Impression (0-3 seconds)
- Does the hero communicate what you sell?
- Is the value proposition clear?
- Is the page loading in under 2 seconds?
2. Product Discovery
- Can users find products in under 3 clicks?
- Is search functional and fast?
- Are categories logical and well-organized?
3. Product Pages
- Do images tell the full story?
- Is social proof visible (reviews, ratings, UGC)?
- Are objections addressed on the page?
4. Cart & Checkout
- Is the add-to-cart feedback clear?
- How many steps to checkout?
- Are there trust signals at every step?
5. Post-Purchase
- Is the confirmation clear?
- Is there a path to repeat purchase?
- Are you collecting feedback?
Priority Matrix
Not all fixes are created equal. I prioritize by impact × ease:
- High impact, easy to implement → Do first
- High impact, hard → Plan for next sprint
- Low impact → Backlog
